After speaking with Carley (high chelmer) she has advised me that their is no guarantee on the space that we will be given, she stated that offers can come in a month or week before our exhibition is due to start. The shop space that we may get ranges from sizes twice the size of 303c saywers to a quater of that. Not only does this change in what we can have showing but also a change in shop means a possibility of no power (no way of showing animated work), health and safety changes between each space (some spaces are in the isles which means nothing can go on the floor.)
She was also unaware of the amount of students and assumed that there were only around 6 students. I will be meeting up with Carley on the 11th of March (next thursday) at 10:00am to go through all the possibilities that we may be given so that we can produce multiple layout plans.

Hi Savva,
ReplyDeleteObviously not very good news, but as I told you before, these are the kind of problems you have to face when someone lends you a space without any money being involved. Nevertheless, lets try to stay positive, and now, still with time, try to plan ahead. I had a look at Richard's personal description and made me think it would be a good idea if you double check the information is giving you to show in the exhibition as "personal description". Maybe it's me being fussy, but be sure that whatever text people gives to you is double checked by someone in your team (check spelling and content).
I really hope we don't end up with a space without electricity (I just find it ridiculous!), but still, I think it's a good idea to find ways since now to solve the problem in case it actually appears.
I just want to tell you how glad I am with your work and commitment. I'm sure everything is going to come out perfectly in your exhibition thanks to people like you: hard working and responsible. Keep up the hard work Savva and if you need anything, let me know. I'll do my best to support you... talking about support, do you know if the invitations have been done? How many will you need? Let me know so I can start finding out if we can get any help. See you in class.
Savva,
ReplyDeleteCan you please be sure to let Craig know you will need signs throughout High Chelmer to guide visitors to the exhibition? This is to solve the problem of not knowing (even one week before the event!!!!) where your exhibition is going to be located. Invitations, letters and flyers can then, only mention that the exhibition will be in High Chelmer. Then, you will have the finished design for these items on time, the problem of the exact location can be sorted by signage through the shopping mall. I recommend you to contact Natalie and ask her if you can do that in order to solve this problem as soon as possible and to be able to start defining ad checking final designs for invitations, flyers, posters, etc.
